5 Bands That We Could See At Download 2018

In December, we heard the news that Avenged Sevenfold, Guns N' Roses and Ozzy Osbourne will headline at Download Festival 2018.

To add to that, we saw the announcement of potential sub-headliners, or second stage headliners such as Bullet For My Valentine and Marylin Manson. We also saw the likes of Baby Metal, Parkway Drive, Rise Against and Alexisonfire - so potential third stage headliners or third or fourth on the main stage bill.

So where does the Download line-up go next? We heard from Download chief Andy Copping on Twitter that January will hold some exciting new additions. We take a look at five bands who could be contained in such an announcement - let's hope our success rate with our predictions is better than our headliner predictions!

ALICE IN CHAINS

We know a new Alice In Chains' sixth album will be coming soon in 2018, after reports throughout 2017 that the band were in the studio. Then in December, a string of North American dates were announced ending in mid-May - meaning there's ample space to fit in the Download date in June. It would certainly be cool to see them back in the UK, and potentially taking a sub-headline or third-on-the-bill at Download 2018.

BLACK STONE CHERRY

After their latest album Kentucky in 2016, and a brand new covers EP launched in 2017 entitled 'Back To Blues', Black Stone Cherry look set to return to the UK in 2018. There's a convenient little gap in their upcoming tour dates for 2018 - on June 14th they'll be in Austria, so there's no reason why on the weekend before they could be at Donington Park. We're certainly a big fan of this band, and would love to see them pushed further up the bill this year.

LIMP BIZKIT

Here's a band that we always look forward to seeing. Limp Bizkit have the rare ability to make the festival audience lose their minds, and we experienced that for real at their Leeds Festival 2015 show. Despite the intolerance of some towards Fred Durst's antics, they remain a band perfect for festival crowds, given the ensuing chaos they bring. What's more is, their supposed new album, Stampede of the Disco Elephants, has certainly been in the works long enough - maybe it will drop this year in 2018?

In any case, we'd love to see them take to the main stage at Download 2018. What are your thoughts? Leave them in the comments, and we'll get back to you! Also take the time to browse our online music festival store - providing tents for ALL budgets for your music festival in 2018!

EUROPE

Having had personal experience of working with this band on their latest album Walk The Earth, I know what a fantastic record it is. For the album, all of the vintage equipment was rolled out to create a fantastic sound. Now, with their 2018 tour taking a break for the whole of June, it looks likely that we'll see these former Bloodstock headliners take to the Download stage. We could definitely see a second stage sub-headline slot for them.

THE OFFSPRING

Straight from the band's mouth, we heard that a brand new Offspring album will be landing in 2018 at some point. If they do play Download, it will most likely be on the Sunday, given they are playing Greenfield in Switzerland which could be any day from 7th-9th June. It'll be a tight fit, but Switzerland's really not that far away, and the Download crowd would love this band, of that I'm sure!
