In our previous blog post, we said there might be a few surprises at Reading and Leeds this year. We certainly expected the hip hop and grime contingent to grow on the line-up, although we didn't quite anticipate what would happen around that...
For us, the big news is that Kendrick Lamar will headline Saturday night at Reading, and will close Leeds Festival on the Sunday. It appears as if Panic! At The Disco are sharing the spot as sub-headliner - so they'll probably alternate the last artist to play at each festival.
Fall-Out Boy, flanked by Post Malone and Wolf Alice will headline Friday night at Reading and Saturday night at Leeds, whilst the huge Kings of Leon will close Reading on the Sunday and do Friday night at Leeds. The latter are supported by an impressive few sub-headliners in the Courteeners and Skepta, although the stage splits between the artists remains to be seen.
Some other notable announcements include Wolf Alice, whose latest album has proved a big-seller, Dua Lipa - who will no doubt draw a big crowd at both festivals, and to be honest, could easily be an extra step up that bill. Hannah Wants and Annie Mac provide the most notable electronic contingent this year, whilst noughties legends Sum 41, Papa Roach and Hollywood Undead are reintroduced the R&L circuit.
